INDIANA MEMBERS CREDIT UNION HOSTS BACKPACK ATTACK GOLF OPEN

PROCEEDS TO PURCHASE SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

(Indianapolis, IN)  Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), along with other Indiana Credit Unions, will host the BackPack Attack Golf Open, a fundraising event benefiting BackPack Attack, Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Smock Golf Course (located at 3910 East County Line Road, Indianapolis, IN).  Proceeds from the event will purchase school supplies for underprivileged children in Marion County.  

It is reported that 80 percent of IPS students start the school year with no or inadequate school supplies.  BackPack Attack strives to provide supplies to those children, allowing them to begin their year prepared. “IMCU is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve.  Partnering with a project like BackPack Attack offers us the opportunity to help out,” said Ron Collier, CEO of IMCU.  “By providing children with these school supplies, we are able to give them the tools they need to be successful.  We continue to encourage others to help us in this effort to aid our children with their education.” 

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to meet Mark Hermann, former NFL Quarterback, who will be participating and playing in the golf outing.  The BackPack Attack Golf Open event will begin at 9 am with registration and breakfast and a 10 am Shotgun Start followed by a 3:00 pm recognition dinner at Smock Golf Course.  The $100 registration fee includes, green fees, cart, breakfast and lunch.  Raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets and “erasers” are available for an additional $25.  Player packages and sponsorship opportunities are still available.
